Wow! It certainly has been a busy week. Not unexpected, considering yesterday was the last day of Sell-A-Bration, but even an expected whirlwind is still a whirlwind!
My lack of posts may seem to indicate a lack of stamping time, but nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, I've spent most of my free time over the past week stamping -- just not stamping items suitable for posting. Last night, however, I worked on my swap design for my Stampers in Stitched Shoebox swap, and you can see the final product here. Stampers in Stitches is a group of demonstrators headed by Glenda Travelstead who is, in a word, awesome! With the release of every new Stampin' Up! catalog or mini catalog, Glenda organizes a shoebox swap for members of her group. Each one of us designs a card and then we get together in Bartlett to stamp each other's designs. At the end of the night we will have stamped many other demonstrators' designed and will have swapped some completed cards with those demonstrators who, for whatever reason, could not make it to our swap and sent in their completed cards instead.
For tonight's swap, I needed to make 26 completed cards and prepare all materials to make 17 more. These will be stamped by the other demonstrators tonight, in accordance with my design. Since this swap is organized in conjunction with the release of the Spring Mini catalog, I'm using the spring mini sets Doodle That and Polka Dots and Paisley, as well as the Au Chocolate double sided designer series paper. The card base is Sahara sand. The bottom row of doodles are heat embossed with vanilla embossing powder. A strip of the designer paper is scalloped with the corner rounder pinch and adhered to a strip of chocolate chip card stock. the strip of vanilla card stock is stamped with the flower in chocolate chip classic ink and the polka dots in Sahara sand classic ink.
The look of this card is somewhat monochromatic, but i love how the designer paper coordinates with the main image. It makes for a nice subtle all-occasion card that can be put together in a jiffy. What do you think?
