Birthday Best

Just a very quick post today because I have to get ready for the fourth and final session of my stampin' pastels techniques class tomorrow. Nights like this I wish I had a magic wand or some elves who would clean up the stamp room for me, KWIM? But of course I had to show you a new project, so here is a birthday card I stamped for my boss this weekend.

This color combination -- always artichoke, bravo burgundy, so saffron and very vanilla -- seemed very masculine to me, so I went with it and stamped a pretty simple card using the birthday best set. This is yet another great set that will be retiring in June, so I'm glad I'm getting a chance to use it before it's gone.

Just in case you were wondering, I don't always leave the inside of my cards blank. When I'm making a card for a specific person or purpose, I usually try to decorate the inside of the card as well. Here I stamped the sentiment from the Birthday best set in bravo burgundy and then I stamped the balloons first on the very vanilla insert and then on three different pieces of card stock in the three colors. I trimmed out the color balloons and attached the m to the very vanilla insert for a bit of a 3-D effect. See what I mean about this set being really great? It really does make the perfect Birthday card.
