Christmas Heart

Has it been twelve days yet? After I finish this post I'm going to have to go back to count. After all, I don't want to bore you all, but then I have to live up to my 12 days of Christmas in October promise, too.

Anyway, this is still one more easy Christmas card. I started with the image of two skaters from the Winter Post set. I embossed them on vellum using basic black craft ink and clear embossing powder. Then I used the stained glass window technique and colored them on the reverse side of the vellum with my stampin' write markers. I cut a piece of whisper white card stock to the same size as the vellum so that the coloring would show up better and attached the vellum to the card stock using my double rectangle punch and 1/4" real red grosgrain ribbon. This is a great way to attach vellum without using any adhesive!

I mounted the whisper white card stock on a bigger piece of real red card stock and attached it to the certainly celery card front. I then stamped the sentiment from the Heard from the Heart set in basic black craft ink and embossed it too with clear embossing powder. I love the way this sentiment works with this image, because the couple of skaters look like they're totally letting Christmas into their hearts! In fact, this may just be a perfect card to give to your favorite couple!

Great card Diane! I love the stained glass window technique. And great tip on the ribbon! I don't actually have that punch, I guess I should jump on that!
